Closes swamp-club #2839.

The authoring reference's "Show it" step (State 4) now uses the studio instead of a static design_page file.

Changes

  • references/authoring.md
    • Before starting: reuses a @swamp/gatorwalk-factory/studio that the model search finds.
    • State 4, shown:
      • The agent creates the studio if none exists, starts serve in the background, and gives the person the URL it logs.
      • It walks them through Design mode, then explains how to change the factory. The page is read-only and every change goes through the agent: the person asks in plain words or pastes a Copy reference line, the agent edits the definition and runs validate, and the studio redraws on each save.
      • Simulate is offered as optional, for exploring the saved scenarios. A pasted Copy as scenario goes through scenarios.md.
      • On failure covers three cases: another serve holds the studio's lock, the agent can't run a background command, or the person can't open the page.
  • integration/extension/skill_commands.ts
    • A # background: <why> comment marks a command that runs until stopped.
    • runExample starts a marked command, waits up to a limit for its 127.0.0.1 URL, and stops it with SIGINT (SIGKILL after 30s) when the run ends.
    • checkCommand checks studio model create and <studio> methods against the studio model.
  • integration/extension/skill_test.ts
    • The authoring walk now creates the studio, starts serve, fetches the live page partway through the walk, and stops serve at the end.
    • New unit tests cover the marker and the studio command forms.
  • SKILL.md, README.md: the authoring summaries now say "studio".

driving.md's design_page paragraph and the design_page method are unchanged. This change only touches authoring.

Testing

  • The integration/extension/skill_test.ts suite runs on the real engine: 16 passed.
  • verify-build and verify-reviews pass, with the attestation posted for this commit.

Closes swamp-club #2839. The authoring reference's "Show it" step (State 4) now uses the studio instead of a static `design_page` file. ## Changes - **`references/authoring.md`** - **Before starting:** reuses a `@swamp/gatorwalk-factory/studio` that the model search finds. - **State 4, shown:** - The agent creates the studio if none exists, starts `serve` in the background, and gives the person the URL it logs. - It walks them through Design mode, then explains how to change the factory. The page is read-only and every change goes through the agent: the person asks in plain words or pastes a **Copy reference** line, the agent edits the definition and runs `validate`, and the studio redraws on each save. - **Simulate** is offered as optional, for exploring the saved scenarios. A pasted **Copy as scenario** goes through `scenarios.md`. - On failure covers three cases: another `serve` holds the studio's lock, the agent can't run a background command, or the person can't open the page. - **`integration/extension/skill_commands.ts`** - A `# background: <why>` comment marks a command that runs until stopped. - `runExample` starts a marked command, waits up to a limit for its 127.0.0.1 URL, and stops it with SIGINT (SIGKILL after 30s) when the run ends. - `checkCommand` checks studio `model create` and `<studio>` methods against the studio model. - **`integration/extension/skill_test.ts`** - The authoring walk now creates the studio, starts `serve`, fetches the live page partway through the walk, and stops `serve` at the end. - New unit tests cover the marker and the studio command forms. - **`SKILL.md`, `README.md`:** the authoring summaries now say "studio". `driving.md`'s `design_page` paragraph and the `design_page` method are unchanged. State 4 of the authoring reference starts the studio in the background
and gives the person its URL, instead of saving design_page to a file.
It reuses a studio that Before starting found. It tells the person that
every change goes through the agent, in plain words or as a pasted Copy
reference line, and that the studio redraws as each change is saved.
Simulate is offered for exploring the saved scenarios.

The skill test reads a `# background:` comment as a command that runs
until stopped. It checks studio commands against the studio model. The
authoring walk starts serve, fetches the page while the walk goes on,
and stops serve when the walk ends. The kills are guarded, each output
stream has its own decoder, and an exit before the URL drains output
before failing.
